ICAC’s Chairman of the Executive Board, Ivan Ivanov, had the honor of addressing the Roundtable on Interfaith and Intercultural Cooperation organized by ICIID and the Baku International Centre of Multiculturalism.

In his remarks, he reflected on a profound dilemma of our time: Are we building a democracy of values, or quietly drifting toward a dictatorship of data?
He emphasized that data is never neutral, every act of optimization contains ethical choices that shape our societies. Preserving cultural pluralism in the age of AI requires creativity, wisdom, and the courage to safeguard human dignity above all else.

Today, optimization often masquerades as truth. But “what works” is not always “what is right.” If we allow algorithms to define our values, we risk losing the cultural richness and ethical diversity that make us human.
We extend our gratitude to ICIID for hosting such an inspiring event and for opening space for these essential conversations.
